Under 8's Debut in style

It was great to see the sun shining on the debut of our Phoenix Junior U8's team today. They travelled for their first ever away game to Mowbray Rangers. The boys were nervous, apprehensive and excited before the start of the game, but as the whistle blew this was all forgotten. We led with some great passing and hard tackling and soon took the lead, but we were equally matched as they soon came back fighting, infact the whole game was end to end excitment and the result of a draw was a fine result in the start of the new season.

Fourteen goals were seen from both teams.

Our boys played really well, I was impressed with what Manager Matt has done with the boys in such a short time.

Archie and Freddy the goalkeepers made some great saves whilst defenders Vinnie, Zak, Noah and Ezra all did some fine tackles and good clearances. Forwards Olly, George and Harris all made some fine runs and scored some fantastic goals.

Infact I would like to compliment all of the boys for working so hard and playing so well today. They played really well together and you could see they were looking where to pass the ball onto next. I believe as the boys practice and play more they will progress really well together.

They also have adopted the fighting spirit of the Phoenix fighting Army.
