PHOENIX ARMIES MARCH ON!

What a glorious Sunday of sunshine and football.

First off Phoenix U13's took on AFC Andrews away to arguably one of the better teams of the East Midlands, Phoenix were down by a goal in the first half, the match saw end to end action and some serious hard tackling and challenging tussles, with that said the boys performed admirably. Showing we were true fighters till the end.

Second half goals from Tom scoring twice, one from a 25 yard free kick which was a delight to see and a debut goal for our new centre forward Ollie.

Defensively their work was cut out for them, however solid performances from Matty, Cameron, Luke and Jack, also supported by AJ and Rocco R thwarted most oncoming attacks.

Outstanding Goalkeeping from Rocco kept us in the game.

Midfielders Tom, Evan, Finn and Osayd, worked extremely hard pushing balls at pace forward to the attackers and tracking back on counter attacks. Upfront Ollie and Dan ran their socks off, making some exceptional runs on and off the ball.

The pitch caught us by surprise being a full size adult pitch with full size goals, but in all honesty this didn't hinder our performance at all as we fought to the end and almost won in the dying minutes but sadly denied by the defender cutting the angle off on an attacking run by Dan.

With that said although a 3-3 draw in my mind a massive victory for the boys in patience stamina and strength. Superb performance against a strong team.

GALACTICO'S U12'S

A team that has been working hard in training sessions and building cofidence week on week.

This season has seen us playing in a division that suits us more. Today we faced Lutterworth Town an old enemy' tactically very strong and a forceful team, but today we dominated and out played them. Goalkeeper Kamaal getting stronger each week maing some fine saves. Defenders Muhammed, Elijah, Mikaeel, Hamed, George and Archie all put in a solid performance. A strong midfield of Abbas, Rhys, Josh, Luca and Martino played some lovely passing football and dominated the midfield.

Upfront Isaiah rocked today scoring 3 beautiful goals. Other scorers Luca hit home 2, with Martino and Muhammed bagging 1 each.

A strong performance and well desrved win, great 7-1 victory.

JUNIOR 8'S

Although I missed the start of this game, I was blessed to see them score 5 of their 14 or so goals.

They showed they are a force to reckon with . Hard tackling, some great passing and excellent runs. I was impressed to see them looking for passes and having a dribble or two.

This goal extravaganza entertained a lot of parents today and a proud manager Matt had a beam across his face.

The team consisted of Olly, George, Zac, Ezra, Harris Archie and Noah all putting in sterling performances.

My final words are of pride and elation on how well all of our boys did today, it was wonderful to see so many Players, Managers and parents all enjoying todays matches.

Well done everybody go Phoenix.
